We've been looking at reviewing ratings of Subarus for about a year to replace my wife's car (she drives it for 5-6 years then I inherit her car and she gets a new one). She leaned towards the Outback and I leaned towards the Ascent (guess who won!). Being 66, the Ascent was easier to get in and out of. I also liked the added cargo space over the Outback. We have a seasonal camper site and make frequent trips with luggage, coolers, etc, Since we take our grandson often, we didn't have to worry about dropping the second row seat as we would have in the Outback. We can drop the third row and still have the entire second row in the Ascent. I also liked the 5000# tow rating vs the 1800#-2500# in the Outback.
At any rate, we're looking forward to many years of ownership of our new Subaru.
