Can I get advise as to what causes this issue ? I believe it is caused by weak piston ring seals or is it something much simplier ? The vehicle has 50K on it and if this is serious I want to get it corrected while it still has a drivetrain warranty on it.

Our ‘19 has 58K miles….and just noticed oil smoke on start up. I am in the same boat and concerned.

Compression test?
Cylinder leak down test?
Defective PCV system?
It's likely the 2.4-liter turbocharged, direct-injected boxer four-cylinder engine.
The inter-cooler has evidence of oil ingestion, have that source tested.
You're welcome.
