Manufacturers Warranty on new/loaner vehicle

I just purchased a Subaru from the dealership. They did not have any new cars on the lot as they told me on the phone but they did show me a loaner car they had that had 15k miles on it. It was exactly what I was looking for but they are telling me that Subaru won't extend the Original Warranty to a used preowned vehicle. It has not had any other owners just the dealership and they want me to accept a lesser Certified Preowned Warranty in lieu of the Manufacturer's Warranty. I paid for the car in full. Is this correct that Subaru won't transfer a new car warranty that is still in effect on a loaner car or is the dealership being shady?
