Is an extended warranty advised on a new Crosstrek?
Always. Is an extended warranty advised on a new Crosstrek?
AGree it will be an age old...never resolved debate. The handful of new cars I have purchased over the decades from Nissan, Toyota, and Subaru have all at least paid for themselves....in several cases multiple times over. Depends on how "lucky" one is and one's risk tolerance.Or never.
Reliable sources, including Consumer Reports, always recommend that you do NOT buy the extended warranty. Your new Crosstrek comes with Subaru's warranty for the first three years (I think), so the extended warranty would just be double coverage. Additionally, extended warranties purchased from the dealer are much more expensive than what you would pay if you bought directly (online) from the company.
And then there are the exclusions, co-pays (sometimes) and delays in getting coverage approved. Some extended warranty companies are legitimate; others are scammers.
