We're looking at solar, and a contractor came to take some measurements. Turned out to be a great guy, and happened to notice he had a 10 year old Forester, which currently has 160K.
He said it had been great, got it used from an older couple who kept good records, got it at 50K. He was regularly getting the oil changed by one of the Jiffy Lube places, and they inadvertently pulled the tranny drain plug rather than the engine oil. He noticed the tranny was slipping/making ugly noises, and ended up at a dealership that got it sorted out.
Anyone else with a similar story? Hate to keep going to the dealer for service, but several times, with other cars, it has been the best route.
