Check engine light - '00 Legacy

It's been one week since the dealer replaced the head gaskets (under the
recall warranty). Tonight I noticed that the Check Engine light is on
(stays on).

Our dealer is closed until Tuesday (holiday). Does anyone want to take a
stab at what the problem could be? Car has 46K miles.

There is no way to tell without having the car scanned and finding out
what code(s) caused the light to come on. There are literally hundreds
of possible OBDII trouble codes.
If there is an Autozone near you they do free scans, you can take it
there. Make sure they give you the actual numeric code or codes that
were stored, once you have this info you can post it here for more
help. Ask them not to clear the codes after scanning so if you do go
back to the dealer they will be able to see the codes in memory, if
they are cleared you "evidence" of a problem will be lost.
The problem that turned on the light may or may not be related to the
recent service, but until you have it scanned there is no way to know.

Took to dealer to be diagnosed. They didn't give me the code number
(unless it is PO141), but they said the problem is my rear O2 sensor. The
part is $90. They want $120 in labor to fix it. Is this a do-it-yourself
kind of fix?

Had three of these so far in past 18 months while in extended warranty
time...........................

$100 deductable each time.

One of the reasons this will be my last subie.
