I have a 95 Subaru GL wagon. I have two problems that seem related.
1. When slightly decelerating, for instance when going down a slight
hill the car will rapidly (2 or 3 times a sec) pulse or lurch as if
some one is lightly tapping the accelerator. If I take my foot off
the pedal or accelerate a little, the pulsing will stop. This seems
to be limited to speeds above 25MPH. The problem has existed for
about 4 months and is becoming more noticeable.
2. This problem has been around a month and might be further
development of the first problem. When accelerating at lower, around
town, speeds the car will stutter, about once a second, sometimes
intermittently, until a steady speed is reached. This problem may
exist at higher speeds but is not noticeable because the momentum
masks the effect.
1 seems like a vacume issue, like a vacume switch is not working, to
me.
2 seems like an accelerator pump but, since its fuel injection, thats
not it.
any ideas?
Thanks
Robert
