3 times I have tried to fill the gas tank on my 2017 Outlook Premium. First time it the pump stopped I closed up and took off gauge was less then 3/4. 2nd time pump stopped at 3.47 gals would not start again (might be pump problem) gauge went from 1/4 up one slot on gauge. Yesterday pump stopped would not start again kept getting full click gauge went from less then 1/4 to just over 3/4. Is the Outback just difficult to get to full or is the gauge screwed up?

This is sounding like a venting problem between the fuel tank and Evaporative canister. If there is no venting, fuel from the filling station will stop. With a light, look at the "flap" at the fuel inlet.
You will need an expert to test the venting system and measure the fuel level sensor(s).
