Hey there, I am new to this forum and I need some advice. I have a 2005 4 cylinder Outback with Auto tranny. Back in February I took it to a shop (national chain) for a check engine light issue. Shop said it was the Transmission Cooler Line Assembly, and it needed to be replaced. Did that. Recently noticed that the tranny was slipping and changing gears hard. Took it to another shop ( closer to work) and their diagnosis is the TCLA needs to be replaced. I took it back to the first shop and now they are saying that it is not the TCLA or any of the work they did previously, but is instead another line / hose that went bad.
My question is this, is there another hose, in that same general area, serving the tranny that could be the cause of this? It seems unlikely to me but I am not a mechanic. Any thoughts? Thanks for whatever insight anyone can give me.
