I have a 2016 Outback with 70k miles burning a full qt. at only 800 miles. Apparently excessive oil burn is a common problem with several Subaru engines. So much so that he dealer says an extension to the warranty is in pace by Subaru - but that MY specific year and engine isn't included. Of course not.
Does anyone know the specifics on this?
And more important, does the short block replacement the dealer says is required offer any design or part modifications to prevent/fix this? Or am I looking at another rebuild after 70k more miles?
