How to stop autoplay via Bluetooth?

I have an iphone and a new Forester.

Every time I start my car, it plays music. EVERY TIME.

Aaaaaaargh. Please tell me I can make this stop. Right now it is so annoying that if people say "How's the new car?" I say "electronics suck." this is driving me batty.

This happening with Android for anyone? Looking to get a base Impreza and so far the entertainment stuff looks like a horrible mess. People having to directly connect their phone with a cable? Having it play stuff automatically before I choose to play something would be the worst. So is this just an Apple thing? Did it get fixed?

You can change the autoplay setting within your phone. Its not the car its the phone. Not sure how to change the setting though as I dont support, condone or approve anything apple does.
