Hi/Lo tranny for Forester???

S

S

Hi All!

I have heard that for some markets (Australia?) the Forester is
available with a dual-range tranny. Can anyone confirm this?

Boy, I'd sure like to drop one in our '02 Forester when I have it
apart for its' 100K service this spring. Any idea if any of these
transmissions ever make their way across the puddle? Any a.a.s.
regulars from Down Under willing to source one and ship it over?

Many thanks in advance!

ByeBye! S.

Hi Steve,

Yep - Subarus in Australia have been available with dual range transmission
since the early days. Foresters - manual only, but not the GT/XT - have
always had dual range. You had the big motors from the start, so we had to
have some advantages down here!!

Can't help you with a source. Maybe you could Google "subaru wrecker" and
search .au sites only - then start emailing. Or you might find someone with
a wrecked Forester who would sell you the gearbox by looking at
www.tradingpost.com.au

Steve, there's a guy om both nasioc and www.usmb.net trying to put
together an order large enough to get a crate or a half container or
something up from Venezuela IIRC. try a search over there.
