Good day.
Picked up a 2026 Forester Sport a couple of weeks ago. There's a lot going on at the top center windshield area. I'm looking for recommendations for installing a dash cam.

I’ve thought about buying one too. But decided against it as it could be incriminating. My insurance tracker says I’m a pretty ‘safe’ driver. But there’s always that time when you might not be

I installed a tiny, around $110, Viofo dash cam in my 23 Forester sport last year..the cam fits discretely in front of the rear view mirror, doesn't have a built in screen and is controlled by several buttons or voice command...video can be downloaded to smartphone with the app...to have a cleaner look, I also bought compatible power wires from Dongar Technologies.. they offer power wires designed to fit many Subaru models..it was fairly easy to connect power after removing the overhead panel and finding the wire that powers the auto dimming mirror...although my model did not have the auto mirror, there was a power cable there...cam starts a few seconds after engine started..cam video quality both day and night is excellent and there are many utube reviews giving Viofo models lots of praise as well as some how to install ...also I have not experienced any issues with this tiny cam interfering with the eyesight system..highly recommended..

Proof of facts is a positive. Watch some video of how some people (everyone) lies after an accident or road rage incident. I never go anywhere without full cameras.

Just bought a VIOFO A119-V3 and I'll be installing this week. The unit comes highly recommended. bmart is exactly right, a dashcam can make a big difference to insurance companies and law enforcement. Good luck!

The VIOFO seems like a good option. Does anyone have experience with the Mangoal 4K dash cam? The link below to Amazon says it's a custom fit for the Forester.

I bought a Mangoal for my Forester 2016. The camera is 4k front and 1080p rear. It has a custom mount at the base of the rear vision mirror. Installation was easy as it came with it's own wiring harness, no need to cut wires, just plugs in to an overhead light plug.
The camera settings can be controlled on your phone via the app and live preview of cameras and files also via app.
