All lights on dash came on, wouldnt drive

Daughter just picked up a 2011 outback from the dealership. She was driving and at a stop light. When she took her foot off the brake to apply to the Gas, the car rolled backwards no matter how much she presses on the gas. Then, every single light on the dashboard came on. She shut the car off and then turned it back on, drive engaged at this point and she was able to get the car home, but now the brake light is flashing, the check engine light is on and the traction control light is on.

Toxman here, I have a 2011 Outback 3.6 with 220K miles. This has happened several times to me. The first time I didn't know what to do. I thought it might be the transmission. After a trip to a mechanic and then to the Subaru dealership and a couple of hundred dollars and no fix, I disconnected the battery and reconnected. When I cranked it back up all lights were off. This happens every so often and I repeat the procedure. This is my only car and I drive it to work every day. I just recently took a 500-mile round trip with no problems. Don't know if that helps you.

My wifes 15 imprezza has a problem all dash lights on. No problems driving except no cruise control now. I troubleshot it down to a solenoid in CVT. I took it in to replace control arms at non-subaru dealer Subaru repair shop. He saw the lights and independently came up with the same solution. Solenoid in the CVT. What makes mad is this happened several years ago and I talked to dealer about repair and they went about $1000s blah blah. I finally cal dealer last August and said give a real for the Solenoid. Obviously I got push that I didn't know what I was talking but promised a quote. Never called back. Yesterday I found that there was an extended warranty for CVT that expired several months ago and they won't honor it now. DON'T TRUST SUBARU

Sorry this happened to you, but it sounds more like a dealership problem that a Subaru issue at this point. If you haven't already, you might call Subaru of America customer service at 1-800-2783. It's worth a try, good luck.
