Clutch Slave Cylinder Behavior

Greetings. The clutch pedal on my 2014 was occasionally not returning after being pressed. My dealer diagnosed a bad master cylinder. But I'm also skeptical of the slave because I can wiggle the rod from the slave that pushes against the clutch fork from side to side. Does anyone know if this side to side movement is normal? The dealer thinks the slave is fine based on the fact that they don't see any leaks.
