Hey all,
Got a bit of an odd one for you. I own a VW vanagon with a complete subaru rebuild from a 1992 legacy - subi engine (EJ22), tranny, and wiring. Essentially a subi in a vanagon shell. Recently I've had a problem come up with the (Auto) transmission - the shifter is stuck on drive and won't shift at all. Per feedback I think it may be an issue with the shift cable - it sits right on top of the muffler and may have overheated and failed. Some other components seem to have overheated too after going up a steep pass. What do you all think? If it is a shift cable problem, would it be an (easy) fix?
