98 Subaru Forester catastrophic failure

Just had $3700 in repairs and maintenance completed and the water pump failed causing to overheat and HG blow out. This car is in mint condition and now needs a new motor. I'm at a loss for words as the original owner. Looking to see if anyone has a motor or is interested in purchasing for a project car to keep it going.

Good luck. I just sold my brothers 182,000 mile 2004 Legacy with basically with the same problem, only a bad rod knock, for a paltry $700. There probably is not much of a market out there, even with the car shortage, for a vehicle that old. Too bad you did not even get 200,000 miles out of the car. Whoa wait, that is in kilometers, so that is only 124,000 miles, sorry. You could buy an engine and have it installed, all for $2500 - $3500, but you have to decide to put more money on it. With that low of mileage and being the original owner, you might want to go that route. Or you could just unload it on a guy that happens to have a good Subaru engine laying around for whatever you can get. I truly wish you good luck.
