Hello! Just a quick question here. I have a 2016 Subaru Forester 2.5i. Does anyone know if Subaru OEM metal brake lines are steel or another metal/alloy? I noticed a small 6 inch spot of brake fluid under the vehicle this morning just past the drivers side wheel well. While I haven't pulled panels yet it would appear to be coming from the metal line itself due to the location. If they are steel on the car I was thinking about upgrading to stainless or another non rusting alloy. Does anyone know? Any help would be appreciated as even the dealership can't answer the question.

Steel lines only, stainless is too difficult to flare with the standard brake line flaring kits. A robust kit and care is needed to create the inverted or bubble flares with stainless.
Steel and stainless are also very difficult to bend as well (more tools required).
We use this solution, are easily bent and can be painted.
