One of my Subaru headlights went completely out. Both are halogen lights and I'm looking for replacements, preferably LEDs. Any suggestions?

Stick with halogen if you can. One major problem with LED lighting is their quality, most are complete garbage and fail. If you do decide with LED, choose a reputable company and look at these interesting posts as an example:

This character has a very good idea of how it all works.
Read the producers' "posted contents" for more information.

I have personally found that LED lighting seem to "reflect" back in fog, rain and snow conditions.
One addition to the Tribeca is to install Yellow Fog Lamps along side the factory fog lamps.
White light can't be limited to a single wavelength and comprised of multiple colours.
The white light wavelength is about 400 to 700 nano meters.

Yellow light have a larger wavelength of about 570 nano meters.
Therefore less scattering in fog / wet / snow conditions.
