2011 subaru impreza w/manual tran want to use a donor 2012impreza with auto trans

is it possible to use a 2012 impreza sedan motor with a automatic transmission with a car that the motor failed on but has a good manual trans. i want to use the 2012 impreza motor in the 2011 impreza hatchback manual trans. im sure its possible but what does it entail? is it worth doing? ive already purchased both vehicles so i plan to do it just need some knowledge about it. i could really use some knowledgable people in this project willing to answer some simple questions im going to have. im confident in my ability i just lack the subaru knowledge i probably should have. so please help me gain the knowledge i need. thank you for your input
