I got new tires a few weeks ago and the tire shop said I needed a new CV axel, front drivers side.
This made since because recently I head some faint grinding sound turning right in the driveway.
All that said , I watched a you tube video and mustered enough courage to give it a shot.
I think it was another model but it was almost the same but for the ‘pin’. The video had a pin to push out of the axel to release it from the engine. On mine it popped out. I was relived, Supposedly this can be a hard task, but mine popped out easy .
Everything else was pretty much the same.
Note: the main axel nut is 32mm, but I managed to make use of a 1 1/4 socket.
I’m a fairly novice mechanic and it took me 3 hours. Found an online coupon and got the axel for around $50 from Advance Auto. Lifetime warranty .
Dirty job , but if you have basic tools, you can tackle it.
