2012 Outback 2.5 with CVT; 177,300 miles
I had the dealer swap the CVT fluid at 105K miles.
I changed CVT oil today and it only took 5-1/2 quarts (drain and fill).
I warmed up car, (Oil about 110 degrees) ran it through P-R-N-D then D-N-R-P, allowed it to idle and then topped it off.
I drained nearly 6-3/4 quarts out of it tho (it was hot when I drained it out); dead level in concrete garage.
My question is, how did the dealer get so much in the Outback? Like how did they overfill it so much?
Car has been great, service life in ND, MN and NC. Did headgasket at 155K, otherwise it's been bomber.
