Subaru Forester '05 Paint Issue

N

nrs2001

So here is the story. On the hood of my Forester is a tiny spot that
looks like a blister. The paint, or clear coat is popping up. I
talked with the dealer and they said it was bird dropping which is
conviently not covered under the warrenty. I got a little upset with
them and to them that I need to speak with the Subaru representive. I
have an appointment with him next week. What is the best way to deal
with this? I can assure you that it was not bird droppings that caused
this, the car is brand new and I wash it every week. If Subarus paint
is that shitty I want a refund.

Your Sh..ty attitude usually gets you nowhere these days. Why not just
be polite and say you are a bit disappointed that your vehicle appears
to have a paint problem and can you help me getting it corrected. They
take the car back for a paint blemish? You were kidding of course or
at least I hope you were. Good luck. ed

Ed, what kind of idiot response is sthat?..Do you work for subaru?..you
must

The guy spends 26 grand for a carm he shoud be pissed when they just
pass it off as bird droppings....What, we should ddrive when the birds
are sleeping?
26 grand...gimme a break

No, I have worked with them several times and they are unwilling. Of
course I dont expect a refund for a car, but I do want them to fix it.
It really makes me mad every time I see it. I am paying alot of money
for a car that has a paint issue. Shame on Subaru!

I think that's a great "idiot" response !!

When the OP makes a statement " If Subarus paint is that shitty I want a
refund. " about a tiny paint spot on a vehicle he has had for a short
while you just know that he has let go of his grasp on reality.

Yeah, some bird poop can do very nasty damage to car paint. My advice: see
a reputable independent paint shop and find out from them if this, in
their expert opinion, is a manufacturing defect or caused by some nasty
crap that was dropped there, and get an estimate on how much it would cost
to fix. Then, depending on what you find out, either claim from Subaru,
from your insurance or pay for it yourself. BTW, it would help if we knew
where you are, as the consumer protection laws vary depending on your
jurisdiction.

Bird poop can do nasty damage to a car if its been sitting there for
three years. I am talking about a new car that gets washed every
Saturday. If every car that got bird poop on it looked like my hood,
and every car gets bird poop on it, we would all be riding around in
rust pits. Give me a break Subaru is trying to get away with
something. I am going to the local news with this. I live in NC, in
an area of about 1.3 million, they want like that will they.
