Hello, I am looking to replace the ECM on my 2008 Subaru Legacy. Does anyone have advice on what I should look out for? Would I be fine to plug in the new ECM and drive off right after? Pls help, I am not experienced with fixes on the car
The ECM is not plug-and-play. The ECM will require the VIN to be written and the immobilizer to be set with all available keys. It will take specialized equipment to accomplish those tasks.
Hire a professional to determine is the ECM is defective and or replace it.
