I was considering getting the new brighter headlights. Do low beams still burn out frequently with the new more expensive bulbs?

They've moved to LED lighting which lasts substantially longer than the older hot filament lamps.

Burn out frequently? What kind of car? All of my 100k+, some 200k+ Legacies have original non LE bulbs in nearly every socket, including headlights. I'd trust them over a Dodge LED anyday. I'm not sure I've ever seen a current Mopar product with all of the LEDs working.

Dodge doesnt make lights of any kind including LEDs. They just use them. Lights are sourced from the many suppliers who provide lighting to the automotive OEM market.

Not gonna argue that point one bit. They may even be totally cost driven. But you'd be surprised how quality driven most of the auto industry is.
For the most part they've learned that's it cheaper to do it right the first time.
You be the one responsible for stopping an assembly line and they'll rip the hide right off of your back.
And they don't stock diddly. It's all just in time and just enough to do the job.
It's like knee walking over five miles of broken glass just doing business with that industry.

I have a number of close friends in the auto industry so I get a lot of inside info. I get it...but just because it says LED on it doesn't make them all equal. I also get info on quality after crashes and Dodge is...not good.

Just like motorcycle companies, they each have a strength or three over others, but overall, they're still not equal.

I'll keep all of my old Subarus for my remaining decades of driving time.

Indeed...mostly because I watch the YouTube crash videos too much. I feel like people are trying to kill us every time we leave the house.
