labor cost for Front and Rear pads replacement on Subaru WRX

I took my subaru wrx to Capitol Subaru, San Jose for the 75k
Intermediate Service. The service personnel recommended I get the
couple of additional things done. This is what they charge for labor
and parts , is this reasonable?

1. Replacement of Front and Rear pads and machine all the rotors
Labor : $325.14
1 Pad Kit (Front): $114.51
1 Pad Kit (Rear): $102.45
2 Quiet Brake Kit: $37..90

2. Replacement of Both Front Inner CV Boots
Labor: $422.61
2 Nut Axle: $19.66
2 DOJ Boot: $39.56
2. BAND AXLE Boot: $20.84
2 BAND AXLE SFT BOOT: $16.64
2 GREASE DRIVE SHAFT 155G: $57.74
1 BRAKE CLEAN: $12.95

Does this look reasonable? The car was in the service station for
about 4hours.

thanks,

~$1200?!?!?! FOr brakes and boots?!?!?!

I have some beachfront property in AZ I can sell you, cheap!!!

$20 for axle nuts. I get them at AutoZone for $3.25! WOW!

GOOD pads are about $30 and include the 'quiet brake kit'.
The boots are a PITA, but an afternoon under the shade tree is all that's
required.

It sounds like they used to old, "This is the book price for labor" and
then charged labor for the brake job, and then also charged FULL labor for
the axle boots, which requires removing the brakes and rotors. Sounds to
me like they double-dipped there.

A reputable shop would have billed you for the labor to do the axle work,
but instead of replacing the old brakes, throw on the new ones.

I'd ask about that one. If they give you "Well, this is the book time for
axles, and this is the book time for brakes", find another shop. I think
they figure if you can afford ~$30,000 for the car, you can pony up for
the maintenance as well.

A bit high in my opinion. The average cost per axle on brakes is 250.
in our shop, not sure what the cost of the wrx pads would be.
a inner cv boot runs about 200 per axle. Not gonna argue on the price
of the parts, but that is darn expensive brake clean

You want to see expensive, price out a STI brake Job. Brembro is expen
$ive

Hey, you can get fronts from LPI Racing for only $3050...

Holy crap. I thought $55 per drum for my Tercel's rears was overpriced!
