Thinking that changing the bulb in the right headlight of my 2003 Forester
would be straightforward, I went to the dealer and bought a brand-new
bulb.
When I checked under the hood, I found that I can't get my hands into the
space behind the headlight -- there's some part attached near the top of
the headlamp. I can't get my hands in from either side of this part.
(Well, I can kinda sorta get my fingers in, but couldn't get enough
leverage to remove the connector.)
Just for laughs, I tried to remove the connector on the *left* headlight,
just to see how hard it would be to pull it out. Well, apparently very
hard -- I wasn't able to do it; it felt like I'd damage something if I
pulled any further.
Is there some trick to this that I'm not seeing, or is this really a
dealer/shop job?
