Help: Damaged Sump (oil pan) Forester

?

.

Hi All,

Hit a big rock that dented my Oil Pan on my Forester GT 2litre engine
yesterday. Nice divet about 3 cm wide and 1cm deep in the front bottom
corner of the sump whilst bush bashing. Went through the plastic protector.

Can anyone fill me in on how much work is involved in replacing the pan. Its
not leaking, so maybe I could just leave it ???

ps. can anyone recommend a steel or alloy engine protector ?

Thanks,

Rocco
