Hello... I've always had Outbacks so I'm new here. I recently noticed a bad fuel leak that is right next to the fuel tank where two metal hoses (term?) come out. There is a rubber grommet that is around these metal hoses. I cannot get it off to find out what is behind it. I don't know if these metal hoses can be replaced or if I need to replace the fuel tank.
I'm willing to try anything as apposed to replacing the tank. Is there any adhesive/sealant that I could use? Or is there some way I can actually replace these metal hoses? The metal hoses have rubber hoses attached. The metal is corroded at the ends but it feels like they are solid enough higher up.
I'm thinking it is at part 42051B (diagram) which appears to just be the rubber grommet. Photo uploaded of where the leak is on my car.
