Hi, all. A slow leak, which dampens lower part of tank; it slowly drips on parking spot. Visual of tank: 3" wide dent, in 3/4", but no perforation on tank (front inner bottom corner). Mechanic says will be a big job to pull whole rear end to replace. However, online blogs say its common to have a leaking fuel pump at top of tank.
I was on a farm trail and bottomed out a few times on rocks at 10 mph. Suspect that dented the tank. But also likely drove tank up against frame and compromised the fuel pump at top of tank. Does anyone have a similar event and some advice for this new Member and owner since 2016? BTW: love my first Subaru! Merci. Ike.
