Future Subaru with 3rd Row Seat

One of the article in the 2005 Reveiw links post (USA Today) mentioned
a coming Subaru with 3rd row seating. Seems like it would have to be
avan ior larger wagon. Anyone heard more about this? Any pictures?

Thanks,
Gregg

Not necessarily. Could be an accessory similar to the rear-facing jump
seats in the Ford Taurus or Audi station wagons. I remember a friend had an
old (early 80's) Peugoet where the floor of the back fipped up for an extra
row of (really cramped) seats.

Yeah, the "wayback". Great for taking
a carload of kids across town. Not so
great for anyone bigger than a 10 year
old.

The kids back there had a totally different vacation than the others,
everything was going rather that coming. haha...

Actually some of my fondest High School memories are of going places in my
friend's mother's station wagon. It had the rear facing seats, and although
I am (and was then as well) over six feet tall, I usually wound up sitting
there because it was so darn funny to stare at people driving behind us.
That particular wagon also had rather tiny, minivan style pop-out windows in
the back, and I fired more than a few projectiles out of those windows as we
traveled. Ah, the good 'ol days. ;)
