Fuel leak

Discovered an apparent fuel leak on my 2001 Forester. Leak emanates from
the right rear. I had just filled up and was parked at a friends house
where the driveway slopes. Considering the driveway slopes and the rear
of the car was on the high end it confirms the leak to be somewhere in
the back.

Googling doesn't turn up much. Any users here have any experience with
leaks around the inlet pipe, fuel pump, or seams? Perhaps suggest other
areas to look once daylight arrives?

Narrowed down the likely source of the leak. Appears to be between the
filler tube and the tank itself. Looking underneath I can see a rubber
hose in a rather inaccessible location. Everything looks dry before and
after that junction.

Looks like my mechanic will get a call Monday morning.

Is it possible someone tried to siphon some fuel and damaged something
in the area?

Perhaps after my mechanic takes care of it he'll be able to offer some
possibilities of the cause.
