forester horsepower mods?

Hi all,

I have a '98 Forester. I love the car, but would love it even more if I
could eek a little more power out of it, particularly in the low end of the
power band. Acceleration from full stop is not very impressive, and
acceleration from the bottom of the power band in any gear feels sluggish to
me.

The car currently has no aftermarket parts or upgrades... it is just a
regular old Forester L, 5spd.

Any tweaks, tricks, parts, goodies etc... that you can share with me?

Thanks a lot....

put a wrx engine in it? :D

generally to bump up HP in a NA engine, improve the breathing as much
as you can, both intake and exhaust sides.

Not much you can do to the low end as much depends on cubic inch
displacement. You can spend lots of money to gain very little below 2500 rpm
