Cuts out at 3k rpm

Got 2 tribeca from auction. And the one was leaking oil really bad only when it was running. Had a flashing check engine light and er bb above the odometer and the AWD light was on. Traced the leak to the oil seal. So pulled the timing cover off and replaced all the o-rings and seal. Also the obd harness wasn't working figured out the grounds weren't grounding. Now put back together and it Won't Rev past 3k rpms . Went for test drive couldn't get it to go past 40 mph then it started to over heat
It's giving me engine codes. If anyone has some ideas I would really appreciate it.
