Hard call. There's a line of thought that
you should either change the fluid at regular,
relatively short intervals or not change it
at all. If it were my car and the fluid
looked clean and didn't smell burned, I'd
probably leave it alone.

Do pan-only changes for awhile. At each oil change.

I too vote for a pan drain/refill every 5,000 miles for say 4x times.
That will give you ~ 97% new fluid & you will have done some cleaning
along to way. ed
