Changing wheel/tire size

I have a 2019 Ascent and am unhappy with the 20" wheels and low-profile tires. Has anyone downsized to 16 or 17 inch wheels without any problems?

245/55R 19
245/60R 18
245/65R 17
245/70R 16

Bear in mind that if you alter the size it could affect the speedo & mph

Also bear in mind that a smaller wheel may not clear brake calipers or other suspension components due to reduced clearance.
