Anybody here dealt with 3rd and 4th gear failing in the 5 speed manual? It appears some people have had shift fork failures, but mine appears fine.
Lost 3rd gear first, then a few days later lost 4th. My guess is the synchronizers are toast, but logic says that would just make it difficult to get into gear, not make both gears not function at all.
I've pulled the case apart and pulled all the gears from the main and counter shaft. No noticeable damage to any of the gears, but the oil was milky gray, indicating metal.
Jut looking for some other opinions before I start replacing parts.
