Looking for some help with my 2015 Subaru Forester 2.0XT.
A Subaru dealer diagnosed it with a faulty CVT/transmission, and the dealership repair price is more than I can realistically put into the vehicle. I’m trying to figure out the most affordable way to get it back on the road.
Does anyone in the Queensbury, Glens Falls, Saratoga or Albany area have experience replacing Subaru CVTs, know a trustworthy independent Subaru mechanic, or possibly do this type of work on the side? I would also appreciate leads on a compatible used transmission.
I’m not looking for free work—I’m willing to pay someone fairly. I just need an option that is more reasonable than dealership pricing.
