Updating 2016 Subaru Head Unit?

So the old Subaru models (pre-2019) are all out of date in terms of the STARLINK functionality. I have recently bought a 2016 BRZ Limited and I was wondering if there was a way to update the head unit so that I can synchronise my car with my phone and maybe have it run with the new MySubaru app? Let me know what others have done to overcome this issue
