My 2016 Forrester 2.5 limited has 31,500 miles on it. I used to maintain it at the dealer, but they were horrible.
The car was up-to-date on all its service schedule. But now the mileage and the age of the car don’t match at all. if this car was yours, what would you do next besides replacing the brake pads?

I'm in a similar boat; my 2016 is going on 49,000 miles, thanks to a combo of 2020, then a closer office, then working from home. Can't say what to do with it with being upside down on age vs miles, lol.

Scheduled maintenance.

For the 35K driver, unless you're heavy foot brake person, pads not needed, but brake fluid probably needs changed.

Cabin air filters, windshield wipers, oil and filter, inspection list includes bearings, cv and suspension, exhaust (check while on hoist for tire rotation).

Check engine hoses, inspect radiator for leaks, coolant fluid level and quality, check battery voltage output and inspect under battery for fluid leaks. lubricate interior rubber seals around doors. If garaged, consider using a large flat piece of cardboard under card to detect fluid leaks location. Good time to deep clean ibterior and exteriorand apply lasting padte wax or paint sealant protector. May have to move up engine tuneup but bot before 45K unless the engine has a rough idle.
