I am looking at purchasing a 2010 Outback with the 6 cylinder engine and automatic transmission. I want to tow my 2500lb tent trailer (trailer has brakes) I am wondering about the drive train and hw it will stand up to towing. I have been looking at all sorts of small and mid size SUVs and they are mostly rated for the weight but I have been warned away from some of them because the transmission won't take it. Does anyone have any experience to share on this topic?
