randomly dies while driving.

Hi im Ed new to the forums. recently bought by first subaru, a 95 legacy wagon. the car is in great shape and runs fine up until it randomly dies for a few seconds and then comes back. almost feels like a fuel pressure issue or not. i also noticed that i have no egr valve. Not sure if it was done right or they just redirected the emissions back into the engine directly.
