One different tire safe for Powertrain warranty?

I bought a 2024 Crosstrek premium 9 days ago, put about 300 miles on it, then got a flat tire.

The mechanic I took the car to had a similar tire in stock from a different manufacturer. While I waited on my car in the shop I read through the Crosstrek manual and it basically stated all tires MUST to be the same right down to the manufacturer.

So my question is, will driving with this similar tire from a different manufacturer void the powertrain warranty?

That language is there to protect them and give them more reasons to void your warranty. They all look for any reason to not cover anything. There are hundreds of thousands of stories out there and it spans every manufacturer so Subaru is not unique.

With that said, different diameter tires can cause issues in newer AWD vehicles and it is recommended that all tires be within 2/32's of each other. I do not think what you have will cause issues but if you ever have to bring it in for work I'd get matching tires, just to be safe.
