Need help with Android Auto.

2019 Outback Premium, Motorola smart phone. Pressing the AA selection on the car screen downloaded the apps onto the phone. If I choose AA on the phone, the app starts and displays the phone numbers, but when I choose it on the car's monitor, nothing happens. I can't seem to connect the phone to the car by cord. Bluetooth works just fine. I am obviously missing something. Any ideas?

take it back to the dealer and have them show you as you stand there. I had a brand new Forester that I had programing issues with and when I took it back it took them less then 5 minutes of trying with no success they ordered me a new radio under warranty

Good advice, I think. The sales rep invited me to call her if I had any issues.

As a follow up, my Android Auto was working just fine. I was just in an area with bad reception for the phone.
