I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles. I have a 2013 Subaru Legacy with almost 200k miles on it. I bought it from a family friend for a good vehicle to get to and from college since my previous vehicle wasn't reliable enough in the winter months at 150k miles. Every once in a while the check engine light pops on. I've got a code reader that has been used three times now to my knowledge to reset the code. The last two times it has been reset and the car is fine. This time clearing the code did something to the car. It will try to start when I turn the key only to die, then I tried again thinking the battery was drained (again, dumb when it comes to vehicles) and it started but makes a hissing sound. I let it run for a bit before I had to turn it off and return to work from lunch.
I'm not sure how to fix it other than to disconnect the battery and let it sit, then reconnect the battery. I'd ask my mechanic cousin, but he just had a kid and is in the hospital with his wife.
