Key gets stuck in ignition sometimes but it will come out if I let it sit fifteen minutes or so, or if I just unhook the battery.

2012 Subaru Impreza Premium. About a year ago my key started off getting stuck in ignition once a month but would come out after a couple tries. Starting about a month ago it got worse to the point that it happens everyday, about 60% of the time. I have two ways I get the key out. I can unhook the battery and it will come out or I can let it sit 10-30 minutes and it will come out. What’s going on?

Did you ever get this figured out? Also, if you move the steering wheel back and forth, or the shifter, it should help as well. My son is having a similar issue, and I'm looking for an actual fix, but I'm finding the various forums for Subarus aren't nearly as active as for other vehicles.

Mine did that, turned out a plate located under the shift for park, drive, etc. is stuck. Mine was replaced under the warrenty. Believe this is a common problem with Subarus.
