Hi,
Our 2009 Forester AC failed and at the same time all air control functions of the HVAC failed as well. This includes the rear window defrost, air circulation and air temperature. Opening the hood revealed that the AC belt was torn off and the AC clutch cannot be rotated freely. Now I have the warnings Engine, Anti-skid and blinking cruise control.
The OBD2 code is ”P0691 - Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit Low”, however two separate Subaru shops have spent a total of 5 hours trying to locate the fault without success. They have checked relays and fuses, all ok. I myself have disconnected the AC compressor, replaced the HVAC control unit, swapped fuses/relays of same type (under the dash) and even disconnected the blower motor (closed the circuit with copper wire in blower motor lead) but the fault is still there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im at my wits ends right now…
