Hello, I wonder if anyone out there has experience with having an ignition interlock installed on a Solterra, or any EV, or any push button start vehicle. Ignition interlock is the device that requires the driver to provide a clean (0.00) breath sample in order for the vehicle to start. The sample is provided first thing, when the driver gets into the car before pushing the start button. I had one installed yesterday and the vehicle electrical/computer-controlled circuits are rejecting it like a virus. EV System error messages. Starter System error. According to the shop that installed it, the only one the device maker authorized to do installs in my area, this product, one of several on the market (Intoxalock) is 20+ year old technology that has not been upgraded or re-programmed since it came on the market. When I talked to the company people at the manufacturer, they started reading to me from the instruction manual. The phone center dude said, "don't press the brake pedal" while pushing the starter button. That's it. That's all they have. The installer said it will take another look. The dealership service department has no clue either and is just blaming the device. I get I put myself in this position and stupid should hurt. But this is a bit of a fiasco. If anyone has experience with other approved ignition interlock devices on any vehicle, would love to hear it.

Now whoever is the Dev for fastecu, they're the bees knees. I was able to use that to connect to the BIU and read the codes. That gave me B0105 (key interlock circuit short). Also on fastecu it showed the key lock solenoid as zero volts (0v)

Basic vehicle maintenance (oil change, inspections, etc) can be a hassle but not the end of the world. I would just tell the people working on the vehicle that I had an IID and to let me know when they need it moved. It was an extra step but not end of the world.
