I need a mechanic referral in the NYC area

I just found out that Major Subaru in LIC, who I purchased my car from
is no longer handling Subaru's. I figure now is a good time to find a
new mechanic for my 4 year old 2001 Outback ltd., which has only 30k
on it. Any reccomendations out there would be appreciated. Manhattan
or within 5 stops or so on the subway from Manhattan in Bklyn/Queens
would be great. Thanks!

I want to say Koeppel or one of the other major multi-line groups there on
Northern Blvd handles Subaru. If not in the Long Island City area, up Northern
Blvd a bit.

Have you looked in the local phone book? I know there are several in Long
Island, I can't think of any in Queens off the top of my head.

First of all, don't go to a Subaru dealership; they will rob you blind.

I would highly recommend the shop I've been going to for the last 8 yrs: Tolima's Auto Center. They're on 42nd st just north of Northern Blvd in LIC. The shop is actually right across the street from Koeppel Subaru, which I find kinda funny.

Hmmm. I should check the dates on these postings. Hopefully they've found a good mechanic in the past 18 years...
