Heat or AC controls are not available for a couple minutes after starting the car. This is OK in winter when we always want heat.
Now with cool nights and hot days, we can get into a cool car and the AC is blowing from the afternoon before. Or drive while cool and park in the sun and the heat is on for a couple minutes while the car is already an oven.
Starting the car and standing outside to wait for the heat/AC to wake up causes the car to beep and complain, but really much nicer than baking or freezing.
We don't always know what conditions will be when we next drive.
The car knows inside and outside temperature but has no problem adding heat to a baking interior or AC to a cold interior.
I'd settle for controls that work a few seconds after starting the engine.
How can a car that's this smart be so stupid?
